What To Eat!!

THAT IS THE BIG QUESTION!  Most of us find the whole diet thing absolutely over whelming.  I would rather talk about what NOT TO EAT.

To those who want to start out with baby steps - here is the first step.  Avoid as much as possible "SUGAR".   Using sugar substitutes are not an option either for most of those are worse yet.

Sugar is not a food it is a destructive additive.  If you end up with a health problem, what is the first thing they tell you to avoid?  It's sugar (along with a long list of others).  If one doesn't want to be overwhelmed with cutting out everything, this is the best place to start but it is HUGE.  Most people have no idea they had so much in their diets to begin with.  Many people have noticed numerous benefits after limiting their sugar or trying to eliminate it.  Many health problems become less severe and overall health improves.

If you have cravings for pop and other foods, your system maybe so minerally deficient that you feel you need it to keep going.  Can you think of other ways to help yourself instead of sugar?  Remember sugar depletes your system.  Just try avoiding it and see for yourself!

The article below describes some of the issues:

Sugar Depletes Body Nutrients

William Dufty in his book Sugar Blues points out the fact that while Elizabethan sailors were severely plagued by scurvy (vitamin C deficiency), we hear of no such historic accounts about earlier seafarers such as the Vikings, the Phoenicians and the sailors of the Far East.  A new addition to the diet of the English sailors, that earlier sailors had not had, were quantities of sugar.  I find this relevant from my personal experience: if sweets or sugared products are around the house, I invariably overindulge (needless to say, for my own self preservation they are rarely around the house).  The next morning I will notice on my thighs one or more tiny faint bruises, which are also commonly noted in individuals suffering from a vitamin C deficiency.

Subsisting for a period on water and sugar has been repeatedly proven more physically damaging than subsisting on just water.  This is because large amounts of vitamin B complex and minerals such as sodium, potassium, calcium and magnesium, etc., are required to assimilate and metabolize carbohydrates.  Sugar is a carbohydrate that has been stripped of all vitamins and minerals.  Thus, in order to assimilate and metabolize sugar, the body is forced to use up its vitamin and mineral reserves.  At least drinking water does not use up these precious nutrients!

Footnote:

Our diet is the most important thing for our health.  It is not always what we are currently doing but quite possibly what we are not doing.  Try adding in 1-2 fruit per day and 3-6 vegetables a day (preferably raw if possible) and watch for an improvement.  Stay away from the 4 W's which are white sugar, white flour, white rice and white pasta.

Much could be said about what to eat however do your own research and figure out what works best for you.  We can discuss options when you come for your appointment.

I would like to express my deepest appreciation and thanks to my neice, Krystal Frerotte-Thorhaug, who helped me immensely in getting this website up and running.  I would also like to thank the people that have helped me along the way, my family, friends, Tina Bulai, and my Energy Medicine Instructors, Twila Hayes, Marsha Read and Judy North.  Thank you all so much and I look forward to working with you in the future.
